The Borges company is producing wines since 1884 with a great presence in Douro with table wines and Port wines, and also in Vinho Verde and Dão.
The Lello in Douro and the Meia Encosta in Dão are labels that most of the wine enthusiast are familiar with. Also the Port wines are a reference in the market specially the vintages and aged ports from the Quinta da Soalheira.
The Douro and Dão reserves were recently rebranded and new wines are now in the market. The Douro and Dão reserves white and red have a modern appearance but also what is inside the bottle is a completely different profile, with modern wines and consumer oriented. The wines are blends of the main grape varieties from each region and the reserve reds staged for 24 months in wood before reach the market.
As for the whites, with a gastronomic profile, modern but still without losing the classic style typical of each region, it’s wines that can gain a lot, if in cellar for some years, for those who prefer older white wines.
Both whites are under the €17 mark and the reds in the €21 mark so you should expect a premium wine that will highly represent all the quality of two of the most relevant wine regions in the Portuguese wine panorama.
Also a grand reserve red was now release in Douro and with 30 months staging, you should expect this wine to be among the best of this region.
