Lavradores de Feitoria highlighted by the renowned critic Robert Parker
Published : 08/30/2022 - Categories : Taste Room
Lavradores de Feitoria is a unique project, created in 2000 and which resulted from the union of 15 farmers, owners of 18 farms spread over the best terroirs of the Douro, distributed over the three sub-regions (Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo and Douro Superior), in a total vineyard area of over 600 hectares.
These producers came together to share resources and create synergies in order to achieve what they could not achieve alone. For the first time in the Douro, a group of native people from the Douro brought together knowledge and experiences, innovation and tradition. A joint and solidary effort that marked a new era for the Douro.
The objective was, from the beginning, to create balanced, elegant wines with aging potential, based on a declared commitment to the excellence and tradition of the Douro.
Recently the wines of Lavradores de Feitoria were highlighted by the renowned wine critic Robert Parker.
Quinta da Costa das Aguaneiras 2018 wine won 90 points. Fermented in granite vats and aged in French oak barrels, it is a full and powerful wine. A tribute to the typical Douro reds: full-bodied, with ripe fruit, complexity, structure and ability to evolve.
Três Bagos Grande Escolha 2016 received a score of 91 points. In a clear affirmation of Douro wines, this is one more piece of evidence.
Finally, the Três Bagos Late Harvest 2016 scored 90 points. Full of exquisite greasiness and sweetness, the bunches being harvested not at the usual time of harvest, but deliberately later, only when the grapes are botrytized. Exceptional!
