This super vintage is a classic Port Wine and is the first release of a Vintage Ferreira produced from grapes that were hand-picked at the optimum stage of ripening and were vinified in accordance to Porto winemaking's traditional practices.The wines evolution was constantly monitored by the winemaking team, multiple tests and analysis were made, confirming the calibre of those used in the final blend. Another premium Port wine is Niepoort Bioma Old Vines Vintage Port and what differs this Port wine from the others is that it was made from organically grown grapes of a single vineyard and it was bottled in its third year, one year later than the classic Vintage Port – this is why it is shipped later than other vintage Ports. with aromas of black pepper, spice and dark fruits such as plums and blackberries. Initially the palate is fresh with superb acidity and a wonderful expression of dark fruits, but follows through to a bold tannic mid-palate and finish, the sweetness and fruity flavors are dominated by the tannins in the end of mouth. This is a Port wine suitable for long cellaring.
