Tasting Notes:
An exceptional dark colour with blue tones. It presents a complex ensemble of aromas that combines red fruit compote, ripe plum and small-berried fruits with notes of dark chocolate and pepper. Elegant and well-structured on the palate, extremely full-bodied and full of fruit flavours, a good concentration and firm tannins that will give it great ageing potential. A seductive, warm finish that is long-lasting and velvety.

Food Pairing:
Served after dinner, it pairs well with cheeses from the Serra da Estrela region of Portugal, Stilton, Gorgonzola and other full-fat cheeses. An ideal accompaniment to a strong cigar.

93 points - Ramos Pinto Vintage Port 2000
Very deep colour. Fresh, fruity nose with well defined liquoricey edge. Rich with great concentration and balance on the palate. Some lovely savoury fruit here. Nice structure. Very good/excellent 93/100, possibly more in time
91 points - Ramos Pinto Vintage Port 2000
Showing slightly better than it did a year ago when last reviewed, the 2000 boasts sweet plum fruit, ample earthiness and refined spice flavors. As vintage Ports go, it's not the biggest or most concentrated, but shows a fine sense of harmony and balance.
88 points - Ramos Pinto Vintage Port 2000
Pretty young Port. Aromas of crushed berries and orange peel, with a hint of fresh herbs. Full-bodied, slightly sweet, with plenty of ripe fruit and firm tannins. Medium finish. Better than from barrel. Best after 2007.
