Our recommended wines for today goes to the Bojador, the personal project from the winemaker Pedro Ribeiro,
The approach in the Bojador project is different from the one he shares with Catarina Vieira in the Herdade do Rocim, also in Alentejo. The mission was to show the love for Alentejo in a new way that could show the Alentejo terroir into our glasses.
Soon the Bojador project stood out for having the Bojador Vinho de Talha 2015 in the list of the 10 outstanding Portuguese wines of the last decade, according to the “Master of Wine” Jancis Robinson.
With a range of wines starting in the €7 mark with the colheita red, rosé and white and the reserve red around €13, the wines are very affordable for garage wines, made in a very rustic way and under the ancient vinification technics.
Our highlight goes to the Vinho de Talha red and white, where the vinification was carried out by the traditional process, in clay hoists and without temperature control. The ancient way of making the wine is fully respected, the fermentation is made with indigenous yeasts of the region and without any addition or correction of the musts.
