White wines are never enough and most of the times it pleases those who are not so familiar with wine consumption. We have selected 12 white wines whether you are a wine lover or just an amateur on these themes. Maybe it is with this list that a true passion will begin?
We selected from the Setúbal region the monovarietal wine “Quinta do Monte Alegre Viosinho” made by Xavier Santana, which staged in stainless steel with light “battônage” for 7 days. From the renowned Dão region, we selected the “Quinta de Saes Tobias” made from the Cerceal grape variety that features a complex and sweeping aromatic palette.
From the demarcated region of Vinho Verde where Alvarinho is the main variety for the wines produced, we presente the monovarietal wine named “Maria Bonita”, a wine with a young profile and a vibrant taste but elegant at the same time. As you may have noticed the monovarietal wines are on the top of this selection and from the Tejo region we bring you the “Tyto Alba” white wine made from Moscatel Galego, a wine that is very fresh and enveloping in the mouth.
As for the Douro region i think the choice will be difficult. Starting at the Quinta do Noval with the “Maria Mansa” white wine that presents great floral and citrus aromas combined with a good acidity and freshness in the mouth, following the path to Quinta da Pacheca that gives us a great monovarietal wine made from Sauvignon Blanc, intense, aromatic and with an excellent acidity. Quinta da Ferradosa surprises with a unoaked wine with a great freshness and balance.
To end the journey at Douro region, we selected the “Lua Nova Rabigato” produced by the recognized winemaker Anselmo Mendes and from the Vallegre company another white made from the Moscatel Galego grape variety.
At last but not least, from Alentejo, we have the white wine “Rafeiro” from the Monte Branco winery and a great reserve wine by Herdade Grande made from the Antão Vaz variety. To end this selection, the winemaker Nunes Barata presents a reserve white version of “Vinhas de Cabeção”.
Wines that are truly a treasure and a great choice to serve at a dinner with friends or simply to drink alone after a day of work.
