The Coimbra the Mattos family having opted for the bottling and commercialization of wines produced only with grapes from their properties, created their company in 1986. In the Demarcated Region of the Douro has 60 hectares of vineyard, all mechanized, 50 in the Parish of Galafura, County of Peso da Régua and 10 in the Parish of Guiães, Municipality of Vila Real. All winemaking takes place in the "Adega do Rosca", in Galafura, built in 1917, modernized and expanded in 1966 and 1996. Port Wines are marketed under the brand name VALRIZ (name of a vine with 2.5 hectares called Fragão or Valriz (contraction of the Partridge Valley by the abundance of partridges there).
