Quinta de Azevedo

Quinta do Azevedo has a total area of 40 ha and it's located in the Barcelos commune, a top quality area for wine production, and it was acquired in 1982 as an operations base for Sogrape Vinhos in the Vinho Verde Region. The winery features the most up-to-date technologies, enabling production of high-quality white wines. The wine-producing capacity is 850 000 liters. A yeast was developed in the vineyards of Quinta de Azevedo, named QA 23 (Quinta de Azevedo 23), which is used very successfully for starting and controlling fermentation, from Portugal to France to Australia and the United States of America, amongst others.
