Quinta das Carvalhas

Quinta das Carvalhas is located in Ervedosa do Douro, in the municipality of São João da Pesqueira, with a predominant position on the slope on the left bank of the Douro River facing Pinhão. It has been owned by the Silva Reis family since the 1950s, owner of Real Companhia Velha, a company producing Port and Douro wines founded in 1756 by Alvará Régio D'el Rei D. José I and being the oldest Portuguese company in activity. This is one of the most emblematic properties of the Douro, and is considered by many to be the fifth “image of the Douro” because it allows a sampling of the territory and the most beautiful things the Douro has to show: it is unlikely anywhere else that you can see so much in such a short time.
