The plots are located 600 meters and 300 meters of altitude in the Douro Superior. The grapes are hand harvested in September in boxes of 20 kg. When they reached the cellar, the grapes spend 12 hours in a cold room at 10 ° C. After being stripped and crushed the grapes ferment (the two grape varieties together) at 25 ° C in stainless steel vats with indigenous yeasts. The wine then is aged for 30 months in used oak barrels used and stages for one year in bottle.
Grape Varieties:
Tinto Cão,Rabigato
Tasting Notes:
The Tinto Cão grape variety takes time to show its characteristics. Has an early 'troubled' life and the aging time in barrel and bottle develops its potential. The main feature is a structure wine with a very soft and long finish like few Douro grape varieties have. A small percentage of Rabigato brings "setting" to the aroma and mouth through its acidity.
