Product details
10 Year Old Port Wine is produced using the traditional method. After manual harvesting, the grapes are partially destemmed and crushed in a vat, where a slight maceration occurs before alcoholic fermentation (AF). This fermentation is interrupted by the addition of brandy at the ideal moment, as defined by the winemaker. The result is a fortified wine that ages in oak barrels in the Douro Valley for a period of 9 to 12 years, during which the lees are removed and various adjustments are made. The final blend is obtained by mixing several wines selected by the winemakers, with an average age of 10 years. They are filtered before bottling in Gaia.
