The Herdade do Portocarro was dedicated the production of very original wines since the beginning and perhaps that is why those wines have been included in our customers' favorites list.
Located in the region of the Península de Setúbal, consisting of a slope area, where its 18 hectares of vineyards are located, its first wines, the Herdade do Portocarro Red 2015, the Herdade do Portocarro Anima L12 Red 2012 and the Herdade do Portocarro Cavalo Maluco Red 2013, immediately positioned themselves at the highest level of the national production.
The Herdade do Portocarro wines have an intense and complex personality, tense and earthy, associated with an extraordinary elegance and freshness. The Herdade do Portocarro Partage Galego Dourado White 2017 is an example. It is discreet on the nose with citrus notes, flint and wet stone. In the mouth the attack is also citrusy, but here the fruits of white pulp, pear and again wet stone, mineral and salty come together.
The company has the philosophy of producing high quality wines in limited and exclusive quantities. It is worth checking what a Portuguese terroir can do to international grape varieties such as the Sangiovese and the Cabernet Sauvignon, that are very limited productions and give birth to monovarietals like the Red Herdade do Portocarro Partage Cabernet Sauvigon 2010, the Rosés Herdade do Portocarro Autocarro 13 2018 and Herdade do Portocarro Tears of Anima 2018 and also in the white selection, the Herdade do Portocarro Manda Chuva 2018. Wines that impress and enchant, providing unique moments for the most demanding wine lovers.
Along with the monovarietals, you can also find the blends of the most traditional grape varieties such as the Herdade do Portocarro Alfaiate White 2018, a blend of Antão vaz, Arinto, Galego Dourado and Sercial. It brings a clear color, with a very slight initial aroma of pineapple, turning to white pulp, apple and pear fruits. In the mouth a tremendous and refreshing non-aggressive acidity, full of elegance where the apple and pear appear again with a very mineral and persistent finish. A wine full of class.
