Winemaking:
After delivery of the grapes intended for the production of Grão Vasco Reserva, they are first destemmed and then gently crushed, before being conveyed by gravity to stainless steel fermentation vats. Fermentation lasted for around 10 days, during which the must was subjected to a number of pumping overs in order to gently bring out the phenolic compounds in the skins. The wine was then removed to ageing vats, where alcoholic fermentation took place. Grão Vasco Reserva do Museu 1996 matured for 9 months in used French oak barrels, after malolactic fermentation.

Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro, Jaen, Tinta Pinheira

It is a wine that has managed to keep its freshness alive over time and become more complex and elegant. Wines like this don’t let us forget that Dão is a region where time is essential and it plays a key role in the excellence of the older wines.

Store and Serve Advices:
The bottle should be kept horizontally in a dry and cool place, sheltered from light. Serve between 15ºC-17ºC.

Food Pairing:
It is a very gastronomic wine that accompanies both meat and fish, such as roasted kid, a loaf of grilled veal or even a fish stew.
