A selection of fresh Frisante wines perfect for the summer days

The frisante sparkling wines are slightly different from the classic sparkling wines that we many times call Champagne.

It’s lighter wines, young and with a low alcohol content.

In a more technical view, the pressure inside the bottle goes up to a maximum of 1,5bar while the sparkling usually have a pressure of at least 6bar.

That will affect mostly the density of the bubble, more soft and light in a frisante wine, that it’s expected to be consumed while young.

As for the sparkling, the wine must rest for at least two to two and a half years in bottle before being ready to be consumed.

The frisante wines are an excellent way to use grapes with a lower degree and those sourced in vines located in cooler areas, which will result in a lower degree wine and higher acidity, thus giving a greater sensation of freshness to these wines.

Another huge difference is the gastronomic use of each of these two type of wines, the frisantes are quite versatile, being able to combine and harmonize in all the stages of a meal, from the starters pairing all type of appetizers, to all type of less seasoning dishes.

The frisantes wines can be the ultimate wine for the summer and like most of the Mediterranean countries, the Portuguese gastronomy has a lot of seafood dishes that will be perfect with those wines.
