Great wines selection, both about type and prices. I'm interested in porto wine, and I did found a lot of different "Quinta", with good prices. Very kind assistance during the preparation of order, to solve some few problem of disponibility of one of the bottles ordered.

I have used Portugal Vineyards for a couple of months now and have placed two orders with them. They take about one and a half weeks to reach the UK from Portugal which I think is reasonable. I drink mostly red wine and the wines I have bought so far are both excellent quality and value. I tend to buy round about the €5 to €10 range but some of the cheaper wines have been the better ones, in my opinion. I estimate that they would cost double that in the UK if you can find them, which you mostly cannot. Customer services have always been very polite and I have not had any problems.

Winemaking:
Vintage Port is a wine of a single harvest of outstanding quality. The wine must be bottled between the second and third year of age, maturing henceforth in bottle.

Grape Varieties:
Old Vines

Tasting Notes:
Core black red with a thin purple halo. On the nose it presents itself as a classic Vargellas, balanced and elegant, with pure aromas of forest fruits and fresh plums, with a touch of citrus and quince. Subtle notes of spice - nutmeg, anise and cocoa - stand out through the fruit. To the typical floral character of Vargellas, reminding more jasmine than the characteristic aura of violets, are associated resinous notes and mentoladas of wild herbs. A discreet minerality gives it a firm finish. The palate reveals tight, muscled tannins and ends in an explosion of flavors to fresh berries. An elegant Vintage Single Quinta secure and perfectly balanced.

Store and Serve Advices:
Should be opened two hours before serving and decanted. Serve between 17º and 18º C. Store the bottle on its side, in a cool, dry and dark place.

Food Pairing:
Vintage Ports are after meal drinks. Take them with cheese like Stilton or Gorgonzola. But you can also incorporate them into a meal, combining for instance a Steak au Poivre with a young Vintage.
