Winemaking:
Vintage Ports are made exclusively from the grapes of one harvest. Bottled after two years in casks, it is in the bottle that the long, slow, ageing process transforms the young wine into a magnificent Vintage Port. A Croft Vintage is only declared in years of optimum quality. These demanding standards mean that a Croft Vintage might be declared perhaps only two or three times in a decade.

Grape Varieties:
Tinta Roriz,Touriga Franca,Touriga Nacional

Tasting Notes:
Purple-black colour very deep, with narrow purple halo. Nose extraordinarily powerful and intoxicating, with an almost overwhelming abundance of fruit greedy where blueberry, cassis and cherry combine with delicate aromatic notes of cistus flower. Mouth large and full, packed with dense tannins and rich, full of delicious fruity flavours.

Store and Serve Advices:
Recommended serving at a temperature of 16 to 18ºC.

Food Pairing:
This vintage can be enjoyed by itself but it goes equally well with full cheeses and chocolate or red fruit deserts. A strong cigar can also be the ideal accompaniment.

Allergens:
Contains sulphites.

92 points - Croft Vintage Port 2003

Fine, fresh, spicy nose. Lively with cherry and blackberry fruit. Approachable, sweet pure fruit on the palate. Expressive and direct.

17,5 points - Croft Vintage Port 2003

Beautiful in color, lots of fruit in syrup, mellow but very elegant. Soft and round in the mouth, good structure, polished and focused on fruit, feel the sweetness but not tired, with a satin finish and greedy. Even with future.

90 points - Croft Vintage Port 2003

The 2003 Croft has a relatively exotic nose for this Port, with cherry liqueur, peat, licorice and melted dark chocolate on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent, ripe black fruit. It is plush and heady, the acidity lower than the 2007 or 2009, so that the finish is rounded, decadent and spicy, without the tension and class of other vintages. It is a hedonistic delight, but it would not be my choice of Croft at the moment.

85 points - Croft Vintage Port 2003

A soft, floral style of wine, with attractive sweetness. Its tannins are subdued by the sweet fruit. Imported by Kobrand.

96 points - Croft Vintage Port 2003

Gorgeous aromas of blueberries and dried flowers follow through to a sweet, full-bodied palate. Velvety and round, with lovely fruit. Long finish. Best after 2015. 6,500 cases made.
