Got delivery of my first order and have began enjoying the wine ordered. Like other posts, was unsure about delivery times quoted. Although well tracked, delivery to Scotland took just a few days less than three weeks so we will know in the future. Not a major issue considering the price and will know in the future. We thought best to order a fair amount as little difference in transport costs for small or medium size orders so purchased 24 bottles. Delivered well packages and well wrapped considering it was delivered to Belgium, England then Scotland prior to arrival at my home. Wine is great value compared to purchasing here in Scotland with our new laws which has hiked wine prices up so high, it is cheaper to buy in Portugal than it is here a mile down the road in a local store......CRAZY. I will be ordering again, so well done Portugal Vineyards will be doing business with you for years to come.

Many thanks for the quick service, I am optimistic that your Porto will give our meeting attendants a precious memento of our meeting and look forward myself to enjoying it!

We are of an age when we can live part of the year in the UK and part in Portugal. So the regional wines are important to us, we would miss them if it were anything other than all year round. Portugalvineyards provide us with a top quality service and a website to select, order and have deliverer to the UK, some fantastic produces. Prices when delivery to our door in Winchester are still pence cheaper than buying a table wine at the supermarket. However the qualities do not equate. We have served a selection of quiet moderately priced Reds from the Douro, Dao and Alentajo to friends and our cellar as they call it (a pile of DHL boxes in the garage) has become famous. Our advice read the news letter & tasting notes, pick something you find interesting and try it. We have never been disappointed. Peter

Winemaking:
Although best known for its legendary Vintage Ports, Taylor’s is also one of the most respected producers of 10 Year Old Tawny Port. This style of Port is fully matured in seasoned oak casks each holding about 630 litres of wine. Here, over many years of ageing, the wine gradually takes on its characteristic amber ‘tawny’ colour, slowly developing the complex mellow flavours and the smooth luscious palate which are the hallmarks of Tawny Port. Taylor’s blends its magnificent 10 year old tawny from its extensive reserves of old cask aged Ports matured in the firm’s cool and tranquil cellars (known as ‘lodges’) in Oporto on Portugal’s Atlantic coast. Taylor’s 10 Year Old Tawny is a superb example of the aged tawny style. Mellow and elegant, combining delicate wood notes with rich aromas of mature fruit, it is bottled for immediate drinking. It is the best selling 10 Year Old Aged Tawny Port in the UK.

16 points - Taylors Tawny 10 years Port

(Bottled in 2008) Fruit notes in the story with some dry fruit and resinous nuances of esteva and Bush, some complexity and freshness. In the mouth shows body and medium sweetness, soft, attractive, with a slight bitter married set, fresh and spicy end.

90 points - Taylors Tawny 10 years Port

This is a great, fresh, young style of wine, with figs and bitter marmalade flavors. There's a touch of orange peel, a hint of vanilla and very ripe, delicious fruit.
