Every bottle has been awesome, but then I absolutely love Portuguese reds.My only regret is that I didn't discover the Vineyards till last year and suspect the lunatic Brexit may be a problem. So professional and wonderful - what are you all waiting for!!!!

Dear Sirs This was my first wine delivery which arrived yesterday. I was very impressed with the service as from the point of ordering to receipt was only 6 working days. Living here in Portugal we have become used to having a ready supply of good quality reasonably priced wines so it was nice to be able to share a bit of this with my parents who unfortunately can only wait for holidays! Thanks again Georgina Connoley

The Altano Reserva is made exclusively from Touriga Nacional grapes, harvested in the Symington family’s Quinta do Ataíde vineyard, located in the beautiful, isolated Vilariça Valley (Douro Superior, Portugal). The Touriga Nacional is the principal grape variety planted at Quinta do Ataíde, accounting for 24% of the vineyard’s 82 hectares (203 acres), making it one of the largest plantings of this variety in the Douro, a variety widely acknowledged as Portugal’s most emblematic. The vineyard was planted in the late 1970s/early 1980s and the vines are now at an ideal maturity, enabling the production of very fine wines that express the distinctive character of the Nacional (fragrant, violet aromas; rich blackberry flavours) and also that of the Vilariça terroir. The grapes were picked by hand into small, shallow containers and manually sorted with great care. Fermented in stainless steel vats (9 and 15 tonnes capacities) with temperature control (between 26 and 28ºC) and prolonged maceration through pumping over. Aging 12 months in American oak barrels of 400L .
