Buy great Portuguese wines at sensible prices. Even with the shipping charges of €14 per case of 12 bottles it still works out much cheaper than UK supermarkets and wine merchants. For example, Porto 6 fashionable Lison red is £7-99 in majestic (buying 6 mixed bottles or £8-99 for a single bottle) and from Portugalvineyards around £4-50p shipped. The website is well laid out and user-friendly.In around 2 years of buying a case of 12 wines every other month, I have only had two corked bottles and they were swiftly refunded as a credit without any hassle. The loyalty scheme gives electronic credit vouchers for redemption on future purchases.A huge range of Douro and other regional wines that you simply won't find in the UK.

Winemaking:
Gentle crushing and partial de-stemming of the perfectly ripened fruit was followed by a very intense period of maceration with the alcoholic fermentation. To achieve the optimum skin extraction that delivers the colour, flavour, tannin components for a Vintage Porto Wine, the grapes were pressed in the granite lagares at controlled temperatures of 28ºC. During this phase the temperature, fermentation and density of each grape variety, allowing for individual ripeness and sugar levels, were carefully monitored to determine the addition of the aguardente (grape brandy 77%) to arrest fermentation. Following the vintage, this Porto Wine remained in the Douro Region until the subsequent spring. In the meantime, the traditional ageing process got underway in oak barrels typical of the Offley style. As it aged for two years under the watchful eye of Offley winemakers, the wine's final blend was created from a meticulous selection of each Porto Wine lot, part of our constant quest for improved quality. In the tradition of Vintage Porto, It was bottled in April without fining or filtration and therefore is likely to throw a deposit and will require decanting.

Grape Varieties:
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz

Tasting Notes:
Extremely intense in colour. A deep, almost-opaque, dark red. Exceptionally rich aromatically, black forest fruits especially plum, stand out in the nose, with oaky notes of pine and cedar, floral tones of rockrose, hints of "sous bois", and spices such as cloves and nutmeg. On the palate, an excellent body, well-present acidity, lively yet well-integrated tannins and hints of black forest fruits, again plum, but also cherry. An intense and persistent finish.

Store and Serve Advices:
It is hard to place an upper limit on the longevity of Vintage Portos, which often can surpass the 15-20 year mark, developing tertiary aromas from the bottle maturation. The wine should be stored on its side and at a constant temperature between 16ºC-18°C. Decant carefully before serving, at a recommended temperature of 16ºC-18°C.

Food Pairing:
It is ideal on its own at the end of a meal, or accompanied by dried fruits and rich cheeses. Whilst young, it will prove an excellent combination with chocolate-rich desserts and red-berry tarts.

17,5 points - Offley Boa Vista Vintage Port 2011

Concentrated and with a full style, blackberries and ripe figs, earthy and mineral notes, good design in the mouth, balanced in tannins and polished in style, accessible now but with the potential of life in the basement.

92 points - Offley Boa Vista Vintage Port 2011

The Offley Boa Vista Vintage Port comes from selected grapes in the Pinhao area and, of course, the Quinta de Boa Vista. The 2011 is a blend of 45% Touriga Nacional, 45% Touriga Franca and 10% Tinta Roriz, bottled in April. It has a high-toned bouquet with sweet blueberry and cassis aromas – very forward and perhaps not as complex as the Ferreira Vintage at the moment. The palate is actually better than the nose, in particular the fine tannins and the delicate dash of white pepper sprinkled over the finish. The Offley appears to have very impressive balance and after ten minutes in the glass, the nose begins to calm down and develops hints of clove and heather. This will need a little more patience than some of the other 2011 Vintage declarations.

94 points - Offley Boa Vista Vintage Port 2011

This is a complex wine—packed with tannins and dark fruit. The clean core is layered with blackberry flavors, powerful ripeness and a dense structure.
