I recently ordered the licor Nacional and an almond liqueur, following a recent trip to Portugal. Both are simply divine! The order from the second I ordered it to delivery was easy with a daily update a a tracker website. Delivery only took 5 days and arrived well packaged. Value for money is excellent and I will definitely be back when I run out! Thank you for helping me find something to remind me of my fabulous holiday and to bring a fabulous taste of Portugal home with me

Winemaking:
Hand-picked at the optimum time, the grapes are then destemmed, crushed and converted into wine through a process of careful maceration to extract their colour, tannins and aromas, enhanced by constant churning during fermentation. This takes place in vats at a controlled temperature (between 28-30°C) until the right degree of sweetness (baumé) is achieved. At this point, grape brandy is added to create the final fortified wine. A wine of high quality, made fro one single harvest. A Colheita wine matures in oak barrels for periods of time that can vary, but never less than 7 years. It is then bottled and sold according to the demands of the market.

Tasting Notes:

Store and Serve Advices:
The wine should be stored in a fresh, dry and dark place, without temperature variations, and the bottle must remain up-right. As a natural product, the Port Wine is subject to create deposit when ageing. To guarantee the plenitude of its freshness and quality, the wine shall be consumed preferentially with the shortest time in bottle. Serve at a temperature between 12 and 14ºC.

Food Pairing:
Slightly refreshed, expresses all the finesse and sophistication when combined with caramel desserts, dried fruits and spices, like caramel fondant with apple and ginger jelly, tatin tart, burnt cream and Cheeses of minimum intensity. Despite the age, the freshness remains. Extraordinary marriage with a refreshing tangerine parfait. The multiplicity of possible harmonies is amazing, having the consumer the pleasure to go in search of new flavours.
