Winemaking:
Blandy's 15 year old Rich Malmsey underwent fermentation off the skins with natural yeast at temperatures between 18°C - 21°C in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. After approximately 48 hours, fortification with grape brandy takes place, arresting fermentation at the desired degree of sweetness. Blandy’ s 15 Y ear Old Malmsey was aged for 15 years in seasoned American oak casks in the traditional ‘Canteiro’ system, whereby the casks of this wine are gradually transferred from the top floors of the lodge, where it is naturally warmer, to the middle floors and eventually to the ground floor where it is cooler. During this totally natural ageing, the wine underwent regular racking before finally being bottled.

91 points - Blandys 15 years Rich Malmsey Madeira

Brooding, old furniture and raisin nose. The palate is concentrated and intense with raisin, cask and herb complexity. Long finish.

92 points - Blandys 15 years Rich Malmsey Madeira

Thick, luscious and well-spiced, with mouthcoating creaminess and sweetened flavors of butterscotch, toffee, truffle, ginger and green olive. Marzipan and dried mint details mingle easily on the powerfully spicy finish. Drink now through 2050.
