Winemaking:
The Nacional in the same way as the other grapes from the rest of the Quinta do Noval vineyard: foot treading in stone lagares, a simple if laborious procedure, and the result is always something very different for the Nacional wine compared with the wine from the rest of the Quinta. The Vintage Nacional is what it is because of the grapes and where they come from, not because of anything particular that we may do in the winery.

Tasting Notes:
Superconcentrated. Dark colour. Brooding nose with savoury, spicy notes alongside taut dark fruits – plum and blackberry. Very fine and elegant. A little reticent. The palate has a freshness and focus to the precise concentrated dark fruits. Amazing structure and some earthy, spicy notes. Just fantastic.

Store and Serve Advices:
Should be opened two hours before serving and decanted. Serve between 17º and 18º C. Store the bottle on its side, in a cool, dry and dark place.

Food Pairing:
Vintage Ports are after meal drinks. Take them with cheese like Stilton or Gorgonzola. But you can also incorporate them into a meal, combining for instance a Steak au Poivre with a young Vintage.
