Vintage Port is a wine of a single harvest of outstanding quality. The wine must be bottled between the second and third year of age, maturing henceforth in bottle.
Grape Varieties:
Old Vines
Tasting Notes:
Core black red with a thin purple halo. On the nose it presents itself as a classic Vargellas, balanced and elegant, with pure aromas of forest fruits and fresh plums, with a touch of citrus and quince. Subtle notes of spice - nutmeg, anise and cocoa - stand out through the fruit. To the typical floral character of Vargellas, reminding more jasmine than the characteristic aura of violets, are associated resinous and minty notes of wild herbs. A discreet minerality gives it a firm finish. The palate reveals tight, muscled tannins and ends in an explosion of Flavors to fresh berries. An elegant Vintage Single Quinta secure and perfectly balanced.
Store and Serve Advices:
Should be opened two hours before serving and decanted. Serve between 17º and 18º C. Store the bottle on its side, in a cool, dry and dark place.
Food Pairing:
Vintage Ports are after meal drinks. Take them with cheese like Stilton or Gorgonzola. But you can also incorporate them into a meal, combining for instance a Steak au Poivre with a young Vintage.
Allergens:
Contains sulphites.
