Winemaking:
Warre’s Quinta da Cavadinha is one of the finest vineyard estates in the Douro and produces outstanding wines that are used to make Warre’s Classic Vintage Port. In non-declared years the best of the estate’s wines are bottled as single quinta Vintage Port. These wines share the same characteristic Warre’s style, with fine elegance and lifted floral aromas, but more closely reflect the unique characteristics of the Cavadinha vineyard.

Grape Varieties:
Old Vines

Tasting Notes:
The colour is a dark ruby/purple, and the nose emerges to reveal licorice, tar, and jammy black fruit scents. It is a full-bodied, well-structured, beautifully focused, classically rendered vintage port that is capable of 20-25 years of cellaring.

Store and Serve Advices:
Serving temperature at 15ºC to 16 ºC

Food Pairing:
One of the great strengths of Vintage Port is that it gives equal pleasure enjoyed young and after several decades in bottle. One of the best pairings with Vintage Port is cheese (cream cheese, blue cheese and cured cheese) but it can also be enjoyed alongside many desserts, or simply on its own.

93 points - Warres Quinta da Cavadinha Vintage Port 1998

Cavadinha is the quinta that forms the backbone of Warre's Vintage Ports. With its high elevation, it imparts the cool, dry style of the brand. This wine, from a year that was not a declared vintage, is now ready to drink for its rich fruitiness, although it will still mature for many years. Jammy blackberry flavors are balanced with layers of acidity and sweet tannins. Drink now, or wait until 2022.

18,5 pts Revista de Vinhos - The Grande Villae red is a heritage wine, with a strong and generous personality, which tells us about the Taboadella vineyard, which has always produced reds with a complex intensity and a very elegant structure. But it is also a wine of the future that surprises by its energy, amplified by its very present minerality and where in each stroke we find the cry of the territory, the pure expression of granite, the subtle elegance of the varieties cultivated in highlands and with persistence, respects the memory from its origin!
