Winemaking:
A Port only made on very exceptional years. Aged in oak barrels to mature it is bottled, without any filtration whatsoever, between the second and third year after the harvest. VINTAGE Ports will then mature in the bottle for many years and gradually achieve the outstanding style of a great wine. Grapes are harvested manually and transported in 30 Kg trays. Controlled fermentation with extended maceration, stopped by grape brandy addition. Matures in wooden vats, strictly controlled with successive tasting, until the approval by the IVDP.

Touriga Nacional,Touriga Franca,Tinta Roriz,Tinta Barroca,Tinto Cão

Tasting Notes:
Deep red color, almost opaque. Intense fruity aromas. Mouth full with soft tannins. long finish.

Store and Serve Advices:
Store the bottle horizontally in a dark place with constant temperature, ideally between 12ºC and 15ºC.

Food Pairing:
Superb with high quality blue or creamy cheeses, chocolates, berry fruit desserts.

Blueberry and black raspberry syrup aromas are found in the lively nose of the 2003 Pocas Vintage Port. An impressively grapey, primary effort with forward, satiny fruit, it reveals loads of glycerin in its inviting personality. Rich and candied, it benefited immensely from extensive contact with air. Anticipated maturity: 2025-2040.

This house is still a relative newcomer to vintage Port, having declared its first vintage in 1960. The style of this Port is very rich and concentrated, with a full, sweet character. To judge by the sweet tannins, it is a Port for medium-term aging.
