Vintage Ports are made from only the finest wines from the top estates and only from vintages that are deemed so exceptional that a Vintage year is declared by the Port producers. Stored in wooden vats for 2 years, after which Vintage Ports are bottled unfiltered and continue to mature in bottle for at least 20 to 25 years before reaching their peak. Many continue to improve for 30 years and more. After a rigorous selection of the best lots, 2.450 cases of the 2016 Vintage were released, less than 5% of the production of the Cockburn's in 2016.
Of opaque color, almost black, extremely complex aroma, with evidence for the notes of rock rose and red fruits and some minerality, intense taste with excellent fruit, spicy tannins and a claw that holds it to the taste buds in an endless finish.

One of the great strengths of Vintage Port is that it gives equal pleasure enjoyed young and after several decades in bottle. One of the best pairings with Vintage Port is cheese (cream cheese, blue cheese and cured cheese) but it can also be enjoyed alongside many desserts, or simply on its own.
