Winemaking:
Partnership between Dirk Niepoort and Hernan Parra, famous Colombian producer of Rums. The selected batches of rums from the years 1971, 1974, 1978 and 1980 by Dirk Niepoort aged in 50-year-old Port barrels for 14 months, after which they were blended into a single rum, with 48%. The rum was aged in selected barrels, where it completed the maturation process, giving rise to a special drink, of limited quantity.
Tasting Notes:
A spirit with a beautiful coppery amber colour and sensory profile marked by wood notes, such as various toasts, spices, cigar box and dried fruit, along with dehydrated fruit, chocolate and a curious touch of varnish. In the mouth it is impressively fresh and velvety, with the alcoholic volume supported by the structure and flavours of citrus, spicy spices, jam and white-fleshed fruits, in a long, rich and complex finish.
Store and Serve Advices:
It should be stored upright, in a dry place with a constant temperature between 10-20º and avoiding direct light.
Food Pairing:
Recommended for pure drinking, ice or cocktails.
