The traditional winemaking process of fermentation allows us to obtain excellent Vintage ports. The harvest itself was a magnificent one with which to start. Good sugars of maturation and deep colours in the grapes were the raw material that Port winemakers see only a few times per decade.
The Dark red and deep colour is an indication of the complexity of this wine. It has a strong aroma of berries and spices. The palate is dense and full-bodied, young and balanced, showing an intense attack of typical Douro floral flavours complemented by hints of chocolate and liqueurs, all built on a solid tannic structure. Sweet, with a long, velvety finish. A great nectar with great aging potential.
Store and Serve Advices:
Should be opened two hours before serving and decanted. Serve between 17º and 18º C. Store the bottle on its side, in a cool, dry and dark place.
Vintage Ports are after meal drinks. Take them with cheese like Stilton or Gorgonzola. But you can also incorporate them into a meal, combining for instance a Steak au Poivre with a young Vintage.
