Quinta de La Rosa LBV Port 2017
91 pts Wine Enthusiast - The 2008 LBV has very lively, complex aromas with a mature, black plum, spicy, herbal finish. It has good concentration without being too full bodied and fresh tannins giving the port length and depth. Thanks to the year and good acidities, two opposing flavours of maturity and concentration are well integrated with freshness and equilibrium.

16 points - Quinta de La Rosa LBV Port 2010

Fragrant, raspberries and strawberries, to reflect the freshness typical of the year. Creamy, with a medium body, some milk, fresh acidity notes, fine tannins, final firm, sweet and especiado.

88 points - Quinta de La Rosa LBV Port 2010

The 2010 Late Bottled Vintage Port is a field blend aged in tonels. It comes in at 97 grams per liter of residual sugar. La Rosa's PR says, "The style is slightly drier than some houses with a freshness and acidity on the palate. We work hard to ensure that there is little brandy 'burn' and that it is well integrated with the wine element of the port." The price references a 500ml bottle, from which it was tasted. This is a tasty LBV that is soft and harmonious, but well structured enough to seem serious on Day 2. After the first rush of sweetness, it dries quickly (as predicted) and it shows impeccable balance amid all those rich flavors laced with seared chocolate. Fairly dense on the mid-palate, the lively finish has very ripe tannins; just enough so the wine seems neither dull nor boring. It should be a crowd-pleaser, satisfying to all levels of drinkers. It doesn't, however, have much in the way of a backbone. It will best be drunk young, however long it theoretically lasts.

89 points - Quinta de La Rosa LBV Port 2010

Bottled at four years old, this wine has retained all its fruitiness. Bright plum flavors go with the dusty tannins and sweetness to create a generous wine with plenty of room for fruit acidity. Drink now, but the wine could age a couple of years.

90 points - Quinta de La Rosa LBV Port 2010

Peppery, with red plum and dark cherry flavors that are firm and well-crafted. Chocolate and spice fill the fresh, fruit-forward finish. Drink now. 4,000 cases made.
