Winemaking:
It was produced according to traditional Porto Wine methods. Grapes were handpicked at their optimal point of ripeness. Fermentation, which took place after pressing, in stainless steel vats, was duly interrupted on its 3rd day through the addition of aguardente, a grape spirit. The resulting wines are naturally sweet and complex, dark and full-bodied with a rich aromatic density. The different wines selected to become part of the final blend of Porto Ferreira LBV 2008 were transported to the traditional cellars at Vila Nova de Gaia, where they aged for 4 years in oak casks, under ideal temperature and humidity conditions. The balanced and gradual evolution of these wines was the subject of constant attention from the Ferreira winemaking team, which developed the final blend following painstaking tastings and evaluation of individual lots. The resulting wine was then bottled without cold stabilization, making the development of a natural sediment likely over the years.

Store and Serve Advices:
It is ready to be drunk and does not require decanting. However, after a few years, it is natural that it may develop a deposit, in which case decanting is recommended. Serve between 16ºC-18ºC.
Food Pairing:
It may be served on its own but also matches splendidly with cheeses, chocolate-rich desserts and red berry or forest-fruit tarts.
