The premium and super premium wines definition is the price level, ones in the 10 euros price range and the other above 20 euros. But what distinguish these wines is not the price but all the process up to the bottling process. Along the production process many factors can contribute to the price positioning, such as the careful selection of grapes, grapes from low income vineyards, traditional vinification process, the period in oak, even the quality of the oak barrels and in the end, the number of bottles produced. From the vineyards, passing thru the production of the wine until the staging in cellar, all these can make the price of a wine raise to levels that will put it in the premium or even super premium price level. In the end, premium wines are in general better than the medium range wines and the super-premium are the best wines from each brand. There can be some exceptions in some harvest years but when talking about wines, the price makes all the difference and the more you pay, the better you will be served.
