The Fita Preta Chão dos Eremitas super rare and unique wines from António Maçanita

Since 2004 António Maçanita has been dedicated to the recover of extinct grape varieties, such as Tinta Carvalha, Alicante Branco, Trincadeira das Pratas, among others, which challenge the production but in the end make all the effort worth it.
Full of audacity, favored by the Alentejo region, where the grapes grow in a natural combination of maturity and freshness, thanks to the excellent climate that they are inserted.
Thus Chão dos Eremitas range of wines wines were born, unique wines, monovarietals and the only wines in the market from these extinct grape varieties.
The Chão dos Eremitas Tinta Carvalha Red is a production of only 2449 bottles. In a very open ruby color, it shows intensity and fineness, in a different profile of Alentejo wines that people are used to.
The Chão dos Eremitas Alicante Branco White is a production of only 1955 bottles. It brings a full bodied attack, with an excellent greasiness and persistence.
Finnaly the Chão dos Eremitas Trincadeira das Pratas White, only 1555 bottles produced. From the once called Tamarez variety, now Tricandeira das Pratas, it shows a yellow-citrus color, with an intense fresh nose with citrus notes, almost pineapple, but subtle. In a very fine tense attack, it comes with a good texture and an excellent persistence and freshness.
In addition to the Chão dos Eremitas range of wines, you can also find new in our store, the Fita Preta Branco de Talha White, a wine that goes back in history for the ancestral way of making wine with the fermentation and staging in clay hoist.
Also the Fita Preta Branco de Indígenas White 2018, a combination of two Alentejo native varieties, the Arinto and the Verdelho.
And in the Fita Preta unoaked series, the Alfrocheiro Também Quer Estar Nu Red 2018, after the success in previous years with the “naked” Touriga Nacional red wine.
