Two winemakers who have marked the history of wine in Portugal in recent decades, in two regions that the world recognizes as having high quality and personality, the Douro and the Alentejo, meet again in a project dreamed of and realized in the millenary vineyards of the Douro.
“Duorum" (Latin expression meaning “of two”), was born in January 2007 and expresses the desire of João Portugal Ramos and José Maria Soares Franco to combine their professional activities as winemakers in a project to produce Douro wines with unique characteristics and international dimension. The vineyards, located in the regions of Cima Corgo and Douro Superior, two exceptional and protected terroirs, are raised on terraces with different altitudes, between 150-500 meters, and only with indigenous grape varieties.
The new Altitude by Duorum wines appear in response to the growing worldwide demand for fresher and more balanced wines and propose a journey to high altitude vineyards that provide fresh, fruity and vibrant wines, and which constitute a refuge for local biodiversity. Let's get to know?
