Adega de Pegões continues to shine in international competitions

Despite its long history, Pegões is today a modern and competitive winery recognized both nationally and internationally. It has a wine-growing area of 1117 hectares that produce an average of 11,000,000 kg of grapes, 70% of which are red and 30% white. The red varieties produced are Castelão (Periquita) 65%, Touriga Nacional, Aragonês, Trincadeira... In the white varieties, Fernão Pires 40%, Moscatel 25%, Tamarez, Arinto and Antão Vaz predominate.
With more than 500 distinctions and awards in the most renowned international wine competitions in the world, Pegões is one of the most distinguished Portuguese wine companies, having even been considered the 4th best wine company in Portugal and the 37th in the world by the “world association of journalists and writers of wine and liqueurs”.
This year 2022 is already the best year ever for Adega de Pegões, with a total of 103 awards, 13 of which are Grand Gold or equivalent trophies, 59 Gold, 30 Silver and one Bronze, which reflects its great quality at highly competitive prices. Shall we get to know these wines better?
